Coaches
The purpose of this position is to ensure that our young athletes receive the best coaching possible by ensuring that the coaches are trained and committed. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating coaches training. This person will also oversee the coach evaluation and feedback process along with the President and Vice-President. It will also ensure that the coaches are promoting the kind of behavior and values which our league wants to see in its players, coaches, parents & fans. (This position is not allowed a Board vote.)

President
The President serves on the executive board. This role provides direction for the league, serves as the representative of the league to the community and national governing body, and is ultimately responsible for the operations of the league. The President presides and directs all board meetings, facilitates elections, assumes responsibility for communication with the league participants, the media, and community members, and ensures that the league is complying with all league policies. This position also requires coordination with coaches to plan team schedules and coaches training. The characteristics for this role must be an effective leader, have strong organizational skills, be comfortable with public speaking, and remain dedicated to the goals of the league. This position requires a background check. This position is a two-year term (even year) and is allowed one vote only in the event of a tie.

Vice President
Vice President
The Vice President serves on the executive board. The role of the Vice President is to serve in the Presidential role in the absence of the President. The Vice-President assists the President with providing direction for the league, serves as the secondary representative of the league to the community and national governing body, as well as overseeing the operations of the league by assisting the President ensuring the league is complying with all league policies. This person must be responsible, efficient, and orderly. The Vice President is also responsible for assisting all other board members with carrying out duties that are assigned by the President. The characteristics of the Vice President should embody the same characteristics as the President. This position requires a background check. This position is a two-year term (odd year) and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Secretary
Secretary
The Secretary serves on the executive board. The Secretary maintains a list of board member information, drafting the board meeting agenda, recording minutes of the board meetings, distributes notices of meetings and other league information to the board members, and maintains league records of league bylaws, documents, and other historical documents. This board member is also responsible for accurately maintaining the database listing all athletes and their families and making sure that all insurance requirements are fulfilled. This role requires planning and executing the league registration activities including handling the publicity for registration, organizing a group to help in the actual registration activities, and distributing all registration and league forms. The Secretary is also responsible for picking up mail from the Post Office mail box bi-weekly and distributing to the appropriate board member at the monthly board meeting. Other responsibilities include submitting facility permits for league indoor and outdoor practices and games. The characteristics of this role require strong organizational skills, communication skills, and must remain comfortable with coordinating both people and activities and giving orders and direction as needed. The Secretary will require use of Microsoft Office and the use of the Bristol Youth Lacrosse website. This position requires a background check. This position is a two-year term (odd year) and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Treasurer
Treasurer
The Treasurer serves on the executive board. The Treasurer is responsible for all tasks related to league finances. This includes preparing the league budget, reconciliation of all league financial accounts, maintaining receipts and deposits, financial and tax preparation (federal, state, and/or local as required to maintain non-profit organization status), assistance in fiscal year rotation of operations, production of financial statements including income, purchases, billing, and other disbursements as approved by the other board members. This role also requires tracking payments for registration, fundraisers, and monetary donations or sponsorship to the league. The Treasurer must report the status of league bank accounts to the board on a monthly basis and present any discrepancies to any account. The Treasurer must attempt to resolve any financial discrepancies for any league event. The characteristics of the Treasurer should have experience or knowledge of working with finances and budgets. The Treasurer require proficiency in finance Applications and Quicken. Personal resume showing previous financial work history and/or abilities may be required for this position. This position requires a background check. This position is a two-year term (even year) and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Director-At-Large
Director-at-Large
Director-At- Large holds the position of any vacancy for positions other than the executive board including league committee positions as well as serving the needs of the league. The characteristics of the Director-at-Large must be flexible, reliable, able to function in many roles, and must be comfortable with public speaking. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Scheduling Coordinator/Officials Manager
Scheduling Coordinator
The Scheduling Coordinator/Officials Manager shall develop a list of all qualified officials and provide to the league and the appropriate age group which each official should be working on an annual basis. The Scheduling coordinator is required to maintain accurate and up-to-date information of all schedules for each team throughout the season as well as up-to-date information regarding team schedules on the website. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for contacting all coaches to confirm their game schedule 2 days before the scheduled date as well as securing the officials for each game. The Scheduling Coordinator must notify the Treasurer the names of the officials within 2 hours prior to the game to ensure timely payment. In regards to schedule changes, once the Head Coach makes the final determination, the Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for notifying the officials of cancelations and rescheduling officials when games are rescheduled. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible to obtain and secure alternate fields when practices/games are canceled and notify any changes in field location to the Coaches and officials in “real time” within 1 ½ hours prior to the game start time. This position will also be responsible for any other additional duties advised by the President or Vice President in need of the league in regards to scheduling. The characteristics of the Scheduling Coordinator must have strong organizational skills, verbal skills, remain flexible, and be willing to act immediately as the need arises. The Scheduling Coordinator must become comfortable with the use of the Bristol Youth Lacrosse website, the One-Call system, emails, phone calls and text messages. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Sponsorship Coordinator
Sponsorship Coordinator
The Sponsorship Coordinator works with the league Treasurer to create a plan to meet the financial needs of the league. This position will also be responsible for seeking out sponsors locally and online to support the league needs by obtaining monetary donations, gift certificates and equipment for all Bristol Youth Lacrosse events. The Sponsorship Coordinator will present their efforts to the board on a monthly basis. The characteristics of this position require excellent communication skills, strong writing skills, reliability and honesty, and the desire to promote the League. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Director of Merchandising
Director of Merchandise
The Director of Merchandising is responsible for determining uniform, and jersey needs for the league as well as designing, ordering, purchasing, selling, and distribution of team apparel and merchandise. This role requires handing out league jerseys, maintaining an accurate roster (by number and size) with name of player on each individual team upon distribution and collecting each jersey at the end of the season. The Director of Merchandise is also responsible for the coordination of the purchase (with Board approval), sale, and distribution of team shorts and pinnies. This role also requires research and selection of vendors for printing league apparel and merchandise. The characteristics of this position require strong organizational skills, the ability to remain current in apparel style, appropriate skill in sales, attention to details, trustworthy, and honest. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Equipment Manager(s)
Equipment Manager
The equipment manager oversees the purchase and distribution of all equipment for the league. It is their responsibility to transport equipment to fields and return it to storage each season. The equipment manager(s) maintain field lines for both games and practices. The equipment manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an inventory of the league equipment, distributing and tracking the equipment distribution to the teams, the collection and cleaning of equipment at the end of the season and organize and place in the BYL storage facility for use of the next season. This role must research, maintain and comply with all equipment safety standards required by CVYL or US Lacrosse. If and when new equipment is needed, the Equipment manager must present the items to the board and after approval, make the proper purchase of the new equipment. The person taking the role of equipment manager should be comfortable making decisions, have good organizational skills, and ability to lift heavy equipment as needed. This position may require training on the use of line painting machinery and stringing and setting up lacrosse goals. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Event Coordinator
Event Coordinator
The Event Coordinator plans and executes fundraisers, recruits parents and other volunteers to assist in the process, and publicizes all fundraisers to the league and community (i.e. parades, utilizing the local newspaper, city council meetings, etc.) To create committees of volunteers, organize, and hold meetings to plan events with sufficient amount of time to ensure all requirements are fulfilled prior to event. The characteristics of the Event Coordinator must be resourceful, creative, organized, and able to take initiative. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Webmaster
Webmaster
This position is responsible for updating and maintaining the Bristol Youth Lacrosse website in its entirety. This includes, but not limited to: updates and maintenance of team pages, and upload and maintain current information and pictures of teams. The Webmaster will also create and maintain login and security features for team administrators, coaches, players and families. The Webmaster will also promote event information, current sponsor information and logos. This position may also fill in for Scheduling Coordinator with updating the scheduling calendar as needed. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.

Publicity Director
Publicity Director
The publicity director is the point of contact for media and local newspapers and is responsible for all tasks related to public exposure. (i.e. local newspapers, social media, and other outlets). This position will work with the event coordinator to promote community awareness on upcoming events about the league. Including but not limited to lacrosse news, game and/or event highlights. All comments should be approved by the executive board prior to release to the press. This position must ensure all signs and banners are displayed throughout the community, as well as at the home game field to promote the league throughout the community in high visibility locations. This position requires working with the Event Coordinator to obtain details for upcoming events and to create and design flyers to be distributed to teams and the public. This position requires a background check. This position is a one-year term and is allowed one vote based on the majority of the board.
